Bradwell Bowls Club would like to send their heartfelt condolences to Gerald's family and friends at this tragic loss.
Gerald was a regular member of our bowling fraternity and will be sorely missed.
Gerald's funeral will take place on Friday March 15th in the Oak Chapel, Crownhill Crematorium at 2.45
The family request that those attending wear something blue to reflect Gerald's love of Chelsea FC. Only family flowers, but donations to the Royal British Legion (New Bradwell), Help for Heroes or 'Walnuts Care Ltd'. All of which were close to Gerald's heart.
NEXT UP on our Winter Activities... GAMES NIGHT! Saturday March 2nd.
£3 will gain you entry and nibbles. Roulette, darts and a surprise table top game will be £2 per entry and there will be prizes for the winners..
A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO OUR PRESIDENT & TREASURER, JOHN. FOR ADDING THE BULK OF THE COST OF THE NEW DEFIBRILLATOR TO THE DONATIONS FROM CLUB MEMBERS, WHICH HAS ENABLED THE INSTALLATION IN TIME FOR THE NEW SEASON (SEE BELOW).
THANKS AGAIN TO JOHN. IT'S NICE TO HAVE THE ASSURANCE OF IT BEING AVAILABLE BUT LET'S HOPE WE NEVER NEED IT.
THE CLUB NOW HAS A DEFIBRILLATOR. The device is automatic and gives voice instructions for operation. Although previous experience or first aid qualification/training is not necessary to use the device, members are encouraged to watch the ten minute video of a full demonstration training session including FAQs.

THE NEW CLOTHING prices are on the notice board. Unfortunately we have no control over the increases,
The quiz, hosted by Dave Forsey, was a great success. A full house enjoyed the quiz, the food & the company
A big thanks to all that attended. To Dave for an entertaining quiz, Sindy for running the bar, Brian and Grahame for the food run and everyone else that helped.
Saturday morning, the temperature in the mid twenties...
Dave Hardaway and Robbie Williams contested the Handicap Final. Robbie raced into a fairly dominant 18-7 lead but Dave managed to pull it back to 18 all before a final push saw Robbie take the title 21-18
Gerald Amos, Brian Clarke & John Bullard took on Wendy Hardaway, Hugh Grassby & Philippa Calcutt in the Triples. Wendy, Hugh & Philippa took an earely lead before being pegged back. From then on it was nip and tuck until Gerald, Brian & John pulled away over the last few ends to take the game.
Saturday afternoon and the temperature is now in the 30's
John Bullard & Dave Hardaway took to the stage in the Over 60's. Old adversaries, it was Dave that took the honours this time
The Novices final was between Grahame Andrews & Brian Clarke. This game saw Brian`surge into the lead, Grahame taking time to get into the game but eventually pulling the deficit back only to fall short at the end

Sunday morning, hot and humid...
The Mixed Pairs , Andrew Compton & Dave Hardaway faced Brian Clarke & Dave Henley. Andy & Dave never really got into the game and Brian & Dave ran out fairly comfortable winners
The Mixed Singles was between John Bullard and Penny Hannaford. Although Penny gave her all in an entertaining game, she came up against an in form John.
A massive but short lived deluge turned the green into a lake during the break but after a short delay, the finals resumed in a somewhat stifling heat
The Two Wood kicked the afternoon off, Dave Hardaway & Dave Henley contesting. The Hornet raced away to start and when the Captain did get going, he left it too late and ran out of ends with the Hornet deserving his win.
The Men's Final between Paul Sapwell & Robbie Williams was always going to be an uphill battle for Robbie and so it proved, but he put up a game show with some fine bowling.
The Ladies Final, Kath Cowan & Penny Hannaford was an absorbing contest, very close at the start before Kath pulled away, only for Penny to stage a comeback and it could have gone either way until Kath produced s stunning last end.

16,717 over the last 12 months
2,443 site visitors over the last 30 days!
Go Daddy say this is remarkable for a site like ours that sells nothing and has no major social media links.
We were also complimented on our layout
So thanks to everyone that logs in to make it all worthwhile!
President's Day was a fantastic success!
The weather stayed fine, the turnout was unbelievable and everyone entered into the Hawaiian spirit to make it a colourful spectacle.
The afternoon raised over £400 for Alzheimer's and so a BIG THANK YOU to all that took part!
