THE INTER CLUB CHALLENGE TROPHY or Triple Header. This new event, planned as a yearly event between Bradwell,. Scot & North Crawley got off to a great start albeit on a scorcher of a day. It was deemed a resounding success by all, and a great social occassion.
BIG thanks go to all that helped organise it, played in it or supported it. No names as I don't want to miss anyone out but you all know who you are. The winners were SCOT with 28pts, followed by Bradwell (25) and N Crawley (20).
Next years event will be hosted by North Crawley.
TOM RUSH TROPHY: This years winners NIGEL & SANDRA, Well done!

GREAT START for the Ladies in the Burnham Plate. A 14-9 win away at Scot. Well done Allison, Sindy, Jo & Penny
COMMISERATIONS to our Ladies Champion, Jo, who played her 1st round Champion of Champions tie against Stephanie Higgins of Buckingham West End. Jo started well, roaring into an impressive lead, Stephanie having no answer to her long jacks. But once Stephanie took the jack and played short, she began to peg Jo back and slowly reeled her in. It was a thoroughly entertaining match watched by a decent crowd, absorbed in the action. Unfortunately Jo eventually lost 17-21 but it was a great effort.
Thanks to Sindy for the bar & Jan for the cakes!
OPEN DAY... a roaring success in the April sunshine and some new members to add to the fold! A BIG thank you to everyone that turned out to support/help with the bowling & catering and generally make our visitors feel welcome

SATURDAY morning saw Andy defeat Robbie in the Mixed Single Final, whilst in the Triples Final Rose, Nigel & John battled bravely but were overcome by Kath, Sindy & Damian.
The afternoon saw the much awaited Novices duel between Jo and Simon, with Simon taking the title. Meanwhile Robbie and Dave were contesting the Over 60's, our captain taking the honours after a tie-break.
SUNDAY morning and Cap'n Dave was in action again, this time in the Pairs. Partnered by Chris, they defeated Jo & John while Simon and Nigel were engaged in the Handicapped Singles Final. Simon winning this one.
The afternoon saw the elite titles, with entry into next season's Champion of Champions also at stake. In the Men's Andy took on the young pretender Damian as he looked to retain the trophy, and he succeeded despite a spitited effort from the challenger. The Ladies was a much tighter affair with Jo and Allison going toe to toe in a hotly contested match which went to a tie-break and kept the spectators enthralled, Jo winning on the very last end.
Very BIG thanks to all involved, the organisers, the green team, the bar staff and our very own cake lady, Jan. The spectators, the markers and of course the finalists. All contributed to a memorable Finals weekend. THANKS!
