2026
The new season is still a good few weeks away, but tempus fugit and all that!
The 2026 fixtures are out and once again we have a pretty full calendar. New for this season a triple header, Bradwell v North Crawley v Scot and our trip to our country cousins in Norfolk, Bradwell Bowling Club. Both of these awaiting confirmation but the signs are good. We also have an extra early season game at Chandos Park.
The club has not been idle during the closed season, with our winter activties all well attended as are the Thursday socials. Thanks have to go to everyone involved.
Well done to Penny and Philippa, who have both gained their coaching badges.
The green is looking good, being nursed by BicesterTurf and our own 'Green Team' who incidentally, could do with some more volunteers for the coming season...
Repairs have been carried out to the clubhouse, including the roof, side wall and gents toilet and a new alarm system is on the way.
In time for the start, new ditch liners will be in place (courtesy of JB). Thanks John.
AND REMEMBER... if you can't get to the clubhouse but want to be considered for certain games just text your interest to Dave (for mixed) or Allison (for ladies).
Please watch out for further updates

YOUR GENIAL HOST FOR THE EVENING -
PRESIDENT BOB

NOVICES - SIMON

MIXED SINGLES - ANDY

MIXED PAIRS - CHRIS & CAP'N DAVE

MIXED HANDICAP - SIMON

TOM RUSH TROPHY - PENNY & FRED
SATURDAY morning saw Andy defeat Robbie in the Mixed Single Final, whilst in the Triples Final Rose, Nigel & John battled bravely but were overcome by Kath, Sindy & Damian.
The afternoon saw the much awaited Novices duel between Jo and Simon, with Simon taking the title. Meanwhile Robbie and Dave were contesting the Over 60's, our captain taking the honours after a tie-break.
SUNDAY morning and Cap'n Dave was in action again, this time in the Pairs. Partnered by Chris, they defeated Jo & John while Simon and Nigel were engaged in the Handicapped Singles Final. Simon winning this one.
The afternoon saw the elite titles, with entry into next season's Champion of Champions also at stake. In the Men's Andy took on the young pretender Damian as he looked to retain the trophy, and he succeeded despite a spitited effort from the challenger. The Ladies was a much tighter affair with Jo and Allison going toe to toe in a hotly contested match which went to a tie-break and kept the spectators enthralled, Jo winning on the very last end.
Very BIG thanks to all involved, the organisers, the green team, the bar staff and our very own cake lady, Jan. The spectators, the markers and of course the finalists. All contributed to a memorable Finals weekend. THANKS!
